The Magpie is one of the landmark pubs in Bishopsgate London. You'll find us within walking distance of Liverpool Street Station, Bishopsgate and Houndsditch, and we're well worth the stroll. We are a traditional pub that's built its reputation on serving a fantastic range of the finest real ales. Enjoy your pint in time honoured tradition at the bar, or better still complement it with a bite from our pub food menu.
The site of our pub was an ambulance station at the beginning of the 20th Century, but its place in history was secured when one of the first electric ambulances was stationed here in 1909. At night time and Sundays this one vehicle served the entire city. We are just off Bishopsgate, a street named after the Bishop's Gate, which stood opposite Camomile Street.
We are proud to be part of the Nicholson's Collection of iconic London pubs. Nicholson's pubs are unique, each has a rich history, stunning architecture and, as you would expect, its own story to tell.
If your travels take you beyond the capital may we recommend a few Classic Pubs around the country.
