About The Sir Christopher Hatton

The Sir Christopher Hatton A Pub with Character...

The Sir Christopher Hatton is one of the landmark pubs in Hatton Garden London. You'll find us within walking distance of Chancery Lane Tube, Hatton Garden and Holborn, and we're well worth the stroll. We are a traditional pub that's built its reputation on serving a fantastic range of the finest real ales. Enjoy your pint in time honoured tradition at the bar, or better still complement it with a bite from our pub food menu.

...And History

Our pub takes its name from the historic figure of Sir Christopher Hatton, Lord Chancellor of England and rumoured to be a lover of Elizabeth I. The Queen granted him the grounds of Ely Palace on which was built Hatton House. In the 1600s Hatton Garden was built here, which went on to become the centre of London's jewellery trade. In 1987 80% of the world's diamonds passed through Hatton Garden.
