About The Victoria Hotel

The Victoria Hotel A Pub with Character...

The Victoria Hotel is one of the landmark pubs in George Street York. You'll find us within walking distance of Leeds General Infirmary, Town Hall and Great George Street, and we're well worth the stroll. We are a traditional pub that's built its reputation on serving a fantastic range of the finest real ales. Enjoy your pint in time honoured tradition at the bar, or better still complement it with a bite from our pub food menu.

...And History

In 1989 we were given special recognition by Leeds Civic Trust for our 'splendid Victorian features and contribution to city life'. Built in 1865, the 'Vic' accommodated people attending the Assizes Court at Leeds Town Hall. It offered 28 bedrooms, dining rooms, private sitting rooms, a billiard room, and public meeting rooms. Despite all that history we are lucky to be here today as in 1973 our marvellous historic building had to be saved from demolition by a public campaign.
